The nominations for the 36th annual American Music Awards have been announced with Alicia Keys scoring picking up five nominations, the most of any artist.
Including artist of the year, where she will compete alongside Coldplay, the Eagles, Lil Wayne and Chris Brown, Keys is also up for both favorite album in the pop/rock category and soul/R & B category as well as favorite artist in both.
Coldplay and The Eagles each scored four nominations where they will compete against one another for three separate awards including favorite artist and favorite album in the pop/rock category. Coldplay has also been nominated for favorite alternative artist, and the Eagles for favorite adult contemporary artist.
Scheduled to perform at the ceremony are Rihanna, Ne-Yo, Taylor Swift and the Pussycat Dolls, which will be broadcast live on ABC.
The Awards will be hosted once again by Jimmy Kimmel in Los Angeles at the Nokia Theater on November 23.
