Sex Pistols bandmates Steve Jones and Paul Cook are said to be writing a new club anthem for Chelsea Football Club.
The pair, who are both fans of the club, are hoping to avoid the football and music cliché which has tackled previous attempts by other musicians.
"We want to do something that’s not corny like all the other football songs,” Jones told the Sun newspaper.
“Music and football tend to produce appalling results when put together, that’s what we want to avoid.”
Last month, Sex Pistols frontman John Lydon began appearing in television adverts promoting British butter.
