American Katy Perry has been unveiled as the host for this year's MTV Europe Music Awards in Liverpool.
The 23-year-old, who shot to fame with the single 'I Kissed A Girl', will provide a “much more informal and relaxed” presenting style, organisers said.
Perry, who is also nominated for two awards, will be making her presenting debut at the awards.
As previously reported on Gigwise, nominees for this year's EMAs include Coldplay, Amy Winehouse and Britney Spears.
Spears is widely expected to appear at the ceremony, which will feature live performances from Beyonce and The Killers.
The EMAs will take place next month.
