Babyshambles' Mick Whitnall has been arrested by police on suspicion of drug possession.
The guitarist was arrested shortly after 4pm yesterday (October 12) in the Blackheath area of London, where Class A drugs, thought to be crack cocaine, were discovered in Whitnall's possession.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police told NME.com that a 39-year-old man has been taken into custody in a South East London police station where he still remains today.
It's reported that officers then searched his home, where more rocks of crack cocaine were allegedly discovered.
Whitnall, who is famously close friends with Amy Winehouse, has a history of dependencies. In the summer of 2007, he spent a week in a detox centre in North Yorkshire to battle his addictions.
