Oasis have shot straight to number one in the album chart with their new studio album 'Dig Out Your Soul'.
It is the band's seventh consecutive album to debut at the UK album top spot since the release of 'Definitely Maybe' back in 1994.
The Manchester band, who are currently in the midst of a UK arena tour, knocked Kings of Leon's 'Only By The Night' from its two-week perch at number one.
The Tennessee rockers were also number two in the singles chart with 'Sex In Fire' behind Pink's 'So What'.
The second highest new entry in the album chart was Bob Dylan at nine with his bootleg collection 'Tell Tale Signs'. Kaiser Chiefs entered at five in the singles chart with their latest offering 'Never Miss A Beat'.
