Sacha Baron Cohen has turned down the chance to sing the Kazakhstani National Anthem when the country takes on England at football on Saturday.
Various groups on the social networking website Facebook had led calls for the actor to appear as Borat - the Kazakh reporter Cohen plays in the film of the same name.
In the movie, Borat famously sings his country's national anthem during a US baseball game.
But British comedian Cohen will be at home in Los Angeles when Saturday's football match takes place, the Telegraph reports.
England take on Kazakhstan at Wembley as part of their bid to qualify for the World Cup in 2010. They will hope to build on their recent victory of Croatia.
