Madonna has been fined a total of £135,000 after her recent concert at London’s Wembley Stadium overran.
The pop star’s concert on September 11th broke the venue’s 10.30pm curfew by 40 minutes, causing widespread travel chaos.
It’s understood that Madonna had been due to take to the stage at 8.30pm but didn’t arrive until shortly after 9pm.
The fine equates to £50,000 for every extra 15 minutes.
“Her people knew about the possible implications for going over the curfew but this is a pretty hefty fine, even for Madonna,” a stadium source told the Sun newspaper.
The concert, which formed part of the singer’s 27-date Sticky & Sweet world tour, was criticised by fans.
Many wrote to Gigwise to vent their anger about Madonna’s late arrival, the venues poor sound and the travel problems after the concert.
