Boy George has urged George Michael to get clean after the singer was cautioned for possessing class A and class C drugs.
Speaking on ITV's Alan Titsmarch Show, Boy George said his own problems with addiction had highlighted how “chaotic and miserable” drugs can be.
Michael was arrested in a public toilet on Hampstead Heath last Friday (September 19th). Police found the singer to be in possession of crack cocaine and cannabis.
He has since apologised to fans for “screwing up again” but his caution has been widely condemned.
Boy George, who is now clean, told Titsmarch: "I do sympathise with George [Michael]... you need perspective and the only way to do that is to get away from your drug problems and get yourself clean."
As previously reported on Gigwise, it's believed that Michael was only given a caution because he is due to appear at an Aids benefit event in America next month. A conviction would have led to visa problems.
The decision not to charge the singer was taken by the chief inspector at the police station.
