Travis frontman Fran Healy has praised American singer Katy Perry, who recently topped the singles charts with 'I Kissed A Girl'.
The band recently covered Perry's single for a radio broadcast, changing the lyrics so that they spoke of gay man who's having doubts about his sexuality.
“We hadn't felt the need to do a pop song since we covered Britney Spears. But I like Katy Perry's attitude. She's a sassy girl,” Healy told the BBC.
Despite fans' appreciation of their cover, Healy wouldn't confirm whether they planned to record it. “We played it for live and on a radio station so far,” he said.
Travis release their new album, 'Ode to J Smith', next Monday (September 29th).
