US democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama has officially endorsed a new compilation album of songs used during his 2008 election campaign.
Yes We Can: Voices of a Grassroots Movement features tracks by John Legend, Sheryl Crow and John Mayer, as well as a new collaboration between Malik Yusef and Kanye West.
Stevie Wonder's classic 'Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I'm Yours' is also included on the album, which will be sold to raise money for Mr Obama's campaign until November 4th.
A spokesperson for the album's publisher, Hidden Beach Recordings, said they had been in discussion for “quite some time” as to how to harness the popularity of Mr Obama's election bid.
"The whole concept [was] how do we translate that to inspire and invigorate and also give people a keepsake that they can own, while at the same time providing some important capital needed for this campaign,” Steve McKeever told the Associated Press.
Mr Obama has attracted a host of musicians during his campaign to become America's first black president, including Will.I.Am and Ludacris – although neither artist appears on the album.
