Steve Tate, former drummer in the boy band Take That, has been jailed for five years for robbing bank.
Tate, who performed under the musician name Steve Washington, stole £1,200 from a branch of Lloyds TSB near Folkstone in July.
The drummer demanded money from cashiers using a gift-wrapped music stand which he said was a gun and pretending he had a bomb strapped to his leg.
But he was later arrested after a passer-by spotted him stuffing money into his pockets on a beach.
Maidstone Crown Court was told how Tate needed the money to pay off a £400 drugs debt and cover his rent.
Tate toured toured with Take That for five years in the early 90s, experiencing some of the boy band's most successful live performances.
