New Order have collaborated with Scissor Sister Ana Matronic on their forthcoming single 'Jetstream'.
Deserving winners of the NME's Godlike Genius Award, New Order haven't stopped working, with two albums on the cards and a confirmed appearance at Glastonbury which they are very excited about.
But back to Ms Matronic, the vocalist who...well, when with the Scissor Sisters, let's be honest, can anyone really hear her at all? I can only ever hear Jake Shears. Is she not just there as as a matriarchal female novelty? Who knows. But Sumner seem pretty pleased with her creative input.
“Ana from the Scissor Sisters did a brilliant job. She came in and did a vocal on ‘Jetstream’ and took it that stage further. It’s gonna be the second single and we’re really chuffed with it.”
And there's a summer full of festies for the illustrious veterans, including T in the Park, 'one in Ireland' (presumably Oxegen) and....Glastonbury! Sumner might have been a naughty boy in the past, but it looks like Glasto has forgiven him:
“Last time we played Glastonbury I threw a bottle of Pernod at my amplifier and it didn’t go down too well with the ambience of peace and love. I think we were banned for a short while, but maybe not. I actually saw a flying saucer last time I was there as well which was another interesting story…”
