Britney Spears will make her second pop comeback in just over a year on a forthcoming episode of The X Factor, it's been reported.
Spears is being lined up to perform her new single 'Womanizer' on the reality TV show in December.
A source close to the programme, which features Simon Cowell, was quoted as saying that “everyone is thrilled” about the singer's involvement.
“To have Britney involved is a massive coup. They expect ratings to go through the roof when her performance airs,” they told the Sun newspaper.
Spears has endured a difficult 12-months, which began with a shambolic comeback attempt at the MTV Video Music Awards last September.
But, after enduring a high profile custody battle over her two children, the singer appeared healthy at the same event earlier this month, where she scooped three prizes.
As previously reported on Gigwise, Spears will release her new album 'Circus' on December 2nd, the singer' 27th birthday.
