Video game maker Activision is reported to be developing a DJ version of its popular Guitar Hero franchise.
Various reports suggest the game will use remote laptop turntable, which will allow users to scratch and perform other DJ tricks.
Activision have inherited development of the game following their recent acquisition of FreeStyleGames.
According to Kotaku, DJ Hero has been in production for two years and currently features mash-ups of popular songs by artists including Beyonce and Jimi Hendrix.
One of Activision's biggest challenges will arise when it tries to liscence songs for the full release, sources say.
Guitar Hero, which allows gamers to play instruments interactively, has become a massive hit since it was first released in autumn 2005.
The three editions of the game have so far sold 14million copies - earning publishers RedOctane $1billion.
DJ Hero has a tentative release date of summer 2009.
