The Fratellis have told Gigwise they aren't worried that their second album 'Here We Stand' hasn't sold as well as their debut.
Speaking to us in New York, Jon Fratelli said that evolving musically is just as important as achieving the huge record sales they did with 'Costello Music'.
He said: “I consider the second album to be fair bit different from the first. It hasn’t done as well as the first album and it may sound ridiculous, but that’s kind of when you know you’re going in the right direction.
“If it did as well then we’d know it wasn’t any different. It’s kind of why we produced it on our own. The third album is gonna have to be different again.”
Elsewhere in the interview, the Scot says that women are incredibly difficult to write about and they try to steer clear of it.
“(Women are) eternally a mystery and I don’t think I’ll ever get them. I’m trying not to write about them much, you end up just boring yourself. It’s so much all that other people wrote about, almost all that Dylan ever wrote about, to a certain point”.
