Veteran rockers Status Quo and the German dance act Scooter have launched a bid to top this year’s Christmas charts.
Scooter have re-worked Status Quo’s ‘Whatever You Want’ into a fast dance anthem using the track’s trademark guitar riff.
Speaking about the song, Quo guitarist Francis Rossi told the Sun: “Quo belong in the charts and playing live gigs. This is a chance for a new generation to hear our music.
Both acts are set to appear in a video which is inspired by Aerosmith and Run DMC’s ‘Walk This Way’ collaboration in 1986.
Rossi and his band mate Rick Parfitt are expected to tour with the dance act.
But they’re likely to face competition this winter from the eventual winner of X-Factor and Take That, who will bother release festive singles.
