Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher has slammed the security team which failed to prevent a man from attacking him on stage in Canada last Sunday.
In a message on the band's website, Gallagher wrote: “Someone, who can only be described as a 'Canadian' was able to get onstage, somehow managed to evade our crack security team (Trotters Independent Security Service) and assaulted my mid-riff.
Daniel Sullivan, 47, has been charged with assault after he pushed Gallagher during Oasis' headline set at the Virgin Festival in Toronto.
The guitarist was treated in hospital for a suspected fractured rib and ligament damage after falling heavily onto his speakers.
Gallagher wrote on his blog that he feels like he has had a sparring session with British boxer Ricky Hatton.
“Can’t say much more than that as the 'perpetrator’s' gonna get the book thrown at him. Repeatedly. It was all going so well up until that point’n’all,” he added.
Oasis were forced to cancel a date in London, Ontario on Tuesday because of his injury but are expected to return to action in New York on Friday.
