Elbow frontman Guy Garvey is in the process of putting together an album of material by his late friend, Bryan Glancy.
Glancy, who died in 2006, was the inspiration behind the band's 2008 Mercury Prize winning album 'The Seldom Seen Kid'.
And Garvey has long spoken about the impact the former songwriter had on his own career with the rest of Elbow.
“Bryan introduced everyone to each other and had a huge influence on all the bands that have come out over the last 15 years," he told the Sun newspaper.
"He was an amazing musician and I want to make sure he’s remembered.
“He never released anything while he was alive, but he’s got a vast archive of home recordings and demos that we’re going to compile.
“It’s a big job, there’s about 30 of us involved in the project, but I’m determined it will happen.”
On Tuesday, Elbow dedicated their Mercury Prize to Glancy and promised to give the award to his mother, Mandy.
