Britney Spears And Christina Aguilera To Reignite Rivalry At MTV Awards

Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera's long-standing rivalry will be revisited this weekend when both singer's appear at the MTV Video Music Awards.

Spears will “kick off” proceedings in Los Angeles on Sunday, while Aguilera is due to perform her chart-topping single 'Genie In A Bottle' at the ceremony's 25th anniversay show.

The appearance of both singers is sure to stir memories of their intense chart battles at the beginning of the 21st century.

Both also famously shared a kiss with Madonna during an appearance at the awards ceremony in 2003.


As previously reported on Gigwise, Kanye West will close this years VMAs, a year after vowing never to appear on the channel again.

This years VMAs will be presented by comedian Russell Brand and artists scheduled to perform live include T.I., Rihanna, Lil' Wayne and Paramore.
