Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake are to record together, almost six years after their high profile relationship came to an end.
The collaboration is expected to feature on Spears' next studio album, which will be released early in 2009.
"They're planning to record a duet, a dance track, for her new album” a source close to Spears is quoted as saying.
"He's been sent her new music, and his feedback is really positive."
Since splitting with Timberlake, Spears has married twice and is currently involved in an ongoing custody battle over the two children from her second marriage with Kevin Federline.
But the collaboration with Timberlake is designed to highlight Spears' new approach to her career.
“She's strong again, and she wants Justin to see that. Musically she wants to blow him away,” the source added.
As previously reported on Gigwise, it was confirmed yesterday (September 3rd) that Spears will open the MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday.
Although she won't perform, Spears is planning something “fun and exciting” for fans.
