Slipknot have been awarded the number one album in the US charts – hours after the accolade was given to US rapper The Game.
Initial reports yesterday stated that 'LAX' by the Game had outsold Slipknot's 'All Hope Is Gone' by just 13 copies.
But a recount, enforced by chart accumulator Nielson SoundScan, revealed that Slipknot's new record had sold 239,516 copies – 1,134 more than the rapper's.
The album, which replaced the Jonas Brothers at the top of the Billboard chart, is Slipknot's first number one in America.
As previously reported on Gigwise, Slipknot were forced to cancel a host of European dates recently after drummer Joey Jordison broke his ankle.
The band are expected to return to the continent this winter, however, for a full tour, which includes the UK.
