Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich has insited that the band are happy despite their new album leaking ahead of its official release next week.

'Death Magnetic', which is due worldwide on September 12th, emerged online after a record shop in Paris accidentally sold a copies to customers yesterday (September 2nd).

Speaking to California radio station Live 105, Ulrich said: "Listen, we're ten days from release. I mean, from here, we're golden.

“If this thing leaks all over the world today or tomorrow, happy days. Happy days. Trust me. Ten days out and it hasn't quote-unquote fallen off the truck yet? Everybody's happy.

“It's 2008 and it's part of how it is these days, so it's fine. We're happy."

Metallica have attempted to keep information about 'Death Magnetic' secret since they confirmed that the record had been completed earlier this year.

As previously reported on Gigwise, the band will play a show at London's O2 Arena on September 15th to celebrate the album's release.

  • this Album is better than Master of Puppets. There has to be some-one who says it. Dont be scared, it really is THAT good! Kirk would be VERY happy

  • Hold on a minute, this album is fantastic, dynamic and back to what they do best but it doesnt touch Master of Puppets, not by a mile. It does kick the last 2 albums out the window though which is a very good thing. At last we are back to riffs that make you want to crush glasses in your fist and scream metal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I’m downloading it right now, but as Lars said, it’’s how things are this days, I’’ve been a huge Metallica Fan since I was a kid, so I’’m gonna buy it at the record store anyway.

  • I have nothing bad to say from this Brilliant back to square one album. ....BUT next ( if they make one more though) album will be more heavier, i believe so. I hope that they will come to play to Helsinki next year!
