Kaiser Chiefs Ricky Wilson has slammed the British National Party – comparing them to “dry rot.”
Wilson, who is performing with the Kaiser Chiefs at this weekend's Love Music Hate Racism's Carnival in Rotherham, said the party “thrives on the laziness of voters”.
“It's not mental to believe that most of us find racism disgusting and the many can easily outweigh the few with the smallest effort,” he said in a statement.
“Vote, be counted, stand up against the bullies and enjoy the gig. If the BNP had a gig the line-up would be ****ing shit."
Reverend & the Makers, Roll Deep, The Courteeners and Richard H Kirk of Cabaret Voltaire will also perform this weekend at the Magna Centre.
The carnival is LMHR's response to the BNP winning two seats in Rotherham at the council elections in earlier this year.
A limited number of tickets, priced at £20 each, are still available. For more information, check out the Gigwise Gig Guide.

- What’s worse? The BNP or Kaiser Chiefs? It’’s a tough question...

- They may well be doing a good job fighting against the scum, but Christ the line-up is awful! Kaisers, Reverend and The Courteeners = hell on earth

- For those of us who live in the real world who have to sell our houses to fund care and drug treatment for ill relatives while immigrants get everything on a plate,We will not be listening to either the music or the views of such non important pop celebrities.

- Now I’m confused. I wasnt a BNP supporter but now I’ve heard the type of people protesting against them I feel strangely drawn to the far right.

- Please, fortunately I’m educated rather than brainwashed/dead, so I know who I’’d prefer!
