Kaiser Chiefs: 'Oasis' Noel Gallagher Is A Publicity Machine'

Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson has praised Noel Gallagher for the way the Oasis guitarist handles the media.

Gallagher recently compared the Kaiser Chiefs to the Monkees and said during his eighteen years of drug taking, “I never got that bad as to say, 'You know what? I think the Kaiser Chiefs are brilliant'."

Speaking to the BBC, Wilson said he admired the shrewdness of Gallagher's remarks, which come ahead of the release of the new Oasis album.

"He's really clever because every interview I've done in the last week has mentioned Oasis,” Wilson said.

"So I'm answering questions about their new record and he ends up in everybody's interviews. He is a publicity machine."

Oasis release their new album, 'Dig Out Your Soul', on October 6th, a week before the Kaiser Chiefs return with the Mark Ronson produced 'Off With Their Heads'.

  • if ricky had actually heard the interview noel did on radio one,he;d realise it had nothing to do with publicity.He just don’t like the bloody kaiser chiefs! I mean,thats hardly surprising is it?! they are woeful afterall.

  • ricky’s obviously wrong, but i actually think the new oasis single is hopeless and the new kaiser chiefs single is surprisingly good, so maybe ricky has a point and the tables are about to turn.

  • well oasis are the best band . kaiser chiefs are good as well, who really gives a rats ass they are friends, every one else can speculate what he meant.... he is noel gallagher... he says what he wants like it or not...
