White Lies made an emphatic debut at the Reading Festival this afternoon (August 23rd), treating fans to songs from their forthcoming debut album.
Performing in the Festival Republic tent, the band began their set with a powerful rendition of the opening track from their album, ‘Place To Hide’.
Although the group, who were all dressed in their trademark black shirts and trousers, spoke little during their set, it didn’t take long for the intimate tent to fill to capacity.
And the band responded, previewing ‘To Lose My Love’, a strong contender for a future single, to the stunned audience.
Other highlights in the bands set included ‘From The Stars’, ‘Farewell To The Fairground’ and new single ‘Death’.
The group are set to release their debut album, which has been produced by Ed Buller (Suede), in January. The record is currently untitled.
White Lies setlist was:
‘Place To Hide’
‘Unfinished Business’
‘Farewell To The Fairground’
‘To Lose My Love’
‘E.S.T’
‘From The Stars’
‘Death’
