The number of people who have complained about not receiving tickets to festivals and concerts has risen dramatically this month.
Consumer Direct, the government's advice service, has received 430 complaints in August so far, up from 134 in July.
The figures, published today, follow the latest fiasco involving SOS Master Tickets - a secondary ticket agency.
The company failed to deliver hundreds of tickets for last weekend's V Festivals, and have also left fans out of pocket for concerts by Madonna and George Michael this weekend.
SOS Master Tickets website is no longer online, and the company's phone lines are all dead.
The company, which operates out of an address in Islington, North London, now faces investigation from Trading Standards.
Barrie Marshall, who is promoting George Michael's final concerts in London next week, called the ticketing problem “sickening”.

- I ordered tickets for the Leeds Festival through a company called Xclusiveticket.com and have had the same problem - no tickets and no relpy on their phone number, e-mail or even now the web site! I have reported this to our local Financial Crime Unit and the Trading Standards Office here on the Isle of Man. I hope to get a refund of the cost of the tickets etc via my Credit Card company.

- I ordered tickets for my husban as a surprise birthday present on Aug 17th. I kept them secrect until then. I am very ill so they were also a thank you to my husband for being so brilliant with me.I cannot explain how shocked I was to find out it was a complete scam. I also paid for transport in advance because of me being ill.Could george not have one more day and let the people who prove they were scamed have first refusal at tickets (nighrtmare reversed) We must always have FAITH!!!

- One day until the concert I am feeling sadder about missing it as the time approaches, And feeling it for the rest of you as well.

- We ordered 2 tickets costing 100 each, to see George Michael at Earls Court on 24th August, through a shop on ebay called Ticket Monkey. Despite the company intially responding to an email chasing up the tickets one week prior to the concert in which they stated they themselves were waiting for the tickets, no tickets ever materialised. The company has not responded to seqsequent emails and the telephone rings unanswered. The tickets were birthday presents for our birthdays.

- We bought six tickets from SOS @175 each for V Festival. When we arrived at the site on the fiday of the weekend we advised there were no tickets waiting for us. We end up buying six more tickets @250 each leaving us all seriously out of pocket. It is an absolute disgrace and it is unbelivable that the government are doing nothing to prevent honest citizens from being ripped of by bastards like SOS. If it wasn’’t for MUSE and KOL my whole year would have been ruined. Nik
