Teenager Quits School To Forge Professional Guitar Hero Career

He plans to build on success...

August 20, 2008 by Jason Gregory

A sixteen-year-old American teenager has dropped out of school in order to forge a career playing the video game Guitar Hero.

Blake Peebles quit his second year at North Raleigh Christian Academy so that he could concentrate on adding to his existing accolades, which include gift certificates and 52 Chick-fil-A meals.

Peebles' parents, who have backed their sons dream, have hired a private tutor so that he doesn't fall behind learning.

His mother told a local news paper: “He always told me that he thought school was a waste of time.”

If successful, the teenager could earn as much as $80,000 playing the professional Guitar Hero circuit in the US.
