Gary Glitter's UK Return Halted By 'Heart Attack'

Gary Glitter's return to the UK has been delayed after he told officials in Thailand he was suffering from a heart attack.

The disgraced pop star had been due to catch a connecting flight to Britain from Bangkok airport last night.

But it's understood that he refused to leave the airport, saying he wanted to stay or be allowed to travel to another Asian country.

Glitter was deported from Vietnam yesterday morning after serving nearly three years behind bars for child molestation.

He was jailed in March 2006 for molesting two girls aged eleven and twelve. His sentence was reduced by Vietnamese authorities last year.

If Glitter does return to the UK he will undergo immediate police questioning and be forced to sign the sex offenders register.

Previous reports have claimed that Glitter plans to revive his music career following his release.
