Kings Of Leon showed their appreciation to England last night during a spectacular set on the main stage at the V Festival in Chelmsford.
Frontman Caleb Followill was in high spirits, playfully making faces with the crowd and smiling throughout the band’s imposing set.
He kept reiterating how much the band loved England before stating they wouldn’t be performing for a while.
Followill then informed the audience that he couldn’t see a better place to end this juncture then in “merry old England, a place where you’ve made us the Kings”.
New single ‘Sex On Fire’ proved it could stand alongside the other festival favourites such as ‘Molly’s Chambers’, ‘Black Thumbnail’ and ‘On Call’.
The flawless playing of guitarist Matthew Followill alongside the ever daring rhythm section of Jared and Nathan Followill highlighted the band’s obvious tight progression.
Although the band were not headlining, their performance still had the feel of a headline slot – much like their appearance at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.
