Lenny Kravitz preached the message of peace to the crowd at the Chelmsford leg of the V Festival during his set on the main stage yesterday afternoon (August 17).
Taking to the stage in typically cool fashion the rocker blitzed through hit after hit including ‘It Aint Over Till It’s Over’, ‘American Woman’ and ballad ‘I’ll Be Waiting’.
Kravitz informed the sunburnt crowd that he “believes there will come a time when everyone can live in peace. I see flags of all nations and people of all colours,” before asking for an “amen”.
As touching as his sentiments may or may not have been his power and presence ruled the stage as he brought his hour long set to a close with the hysteric riff of ‘Are You Gonna Go My Way’.
His set also included an impromptu sing along of Pink Floyd’s ‘Another Brick In The Wall’.
