Gary Glitter To Be Deported Back To The UK Next Tuesday

Gary Glitter will be deported to the United Kingdom next week following the conclusion of his child molestation prison term in Vietnam.

After returning to the country, the disgraced popstar will be free to go anywhere, his lawyer, Le Thanh Kinh said.

Glitter was sentenced to three years in prison in March 2006 for molesting two girls aged eleven and twelve.

The singer, who had been held in custody since November 2005, saw his sentence cut last year under a national amnesty.

A spokesperson for the Home Office told the BBC that like other sex offenders Glitter would face questioning from police when he returns to the country.

Previous reports have claimed that Glitter plans to revive his music career following his release.
