Former Wolfmother members Chris Ross and Myles Heskett are to launch a new band together.

The pair, who left the Australian rock group last week over “irreconcilable personal and musical differences”, are turn to Doom Buggy, their side-project, into a full time band.

Bassist Ross and drummer Heskett originally unveiled Doom buggy at an intimate show in Sydney last August.

At present, it's not clear whether the pair have plans to take the outfit into the studio.

Meanwhile, Wolfmother frontman Andrew Stockdale is already understood to have recruited one replacement for the two vacant positions.

Wolfmother are expected to release their second studio album in early 2009.
