Michael Jackson's brother, Tito, is being taken to court over claims that he has failed to repay a loan from a family friend.
Matt Fiddes, who owns a martial arts school in Devon, filed a £12,051 claim at Carlisle county court.
The figure is understood to be the balance of a bigger loan which Fiddes gave Jackson to cover the cost of flights and a purported television show.
Earlier this year, Jackson and a number of his brothers were reported to have been interested in buying a home in Devon.
There move was then going to be documented for a reality TV show.
Mr Fiddes, who denied that he was taking legal action for the money, first formed a relationship with the Jackson family when he worked as Michael's bodyguard.
