Bryan Ferry is to receive a BMI Icon award from the US performing right organisation at a ceremony in London.
The Icon accolade recognises songwriters that have had “a unique and indelible influence on generations of music makers”.
Van Morrison, Peter Gabriel and Kinks frontman Ray Davies are all past recipients of the prize.
Ferry is best known for fronting Roxy Music and is believed to currently be recording a new album with the band.
The singer will be presented with the BMI Icon award at London's Dorchester Hotel on October 7th.
