More Oasis - Watch Oasis - Lyla
Oasis frontman Noel Gallagher says everyone benefited thanks to the controversial comments he made about Jay-Z's appearance at the Glastonbury festival. Gallagher called the US rapper's booking “wrong” prior to the festival in June, suggesting that hip-hop music had no place at the event.
But the guitarist now says his comments, made in an interview with the BBC, were “taken wrong” and that the attention they caused was "ludicrous".
"I wasn't saying I was better than Jay-Z as a person or rock was greater than hip-hop as a thing or whatever it is."
"I don't really get what all the fuss was about," he said.
He also noted how positive record sales for both Oasis' 'Wonderwall', which Jay-Z opened his set with, and the rapper's records following the festival had justified what he said. “Everyone's a winner," he told the NME.

- You are such a tool sometimes, Noel!

- I agree with Noel. Everybody threw such a hissy fit and Jay Z tried to act big by playing Wonderwall, inadvertedly boosting Oasis\' popularity. People should calm down. He only gave his opinion and he was\'t the only one who voiced it.

- Good man Noel. Playing the media game as per usual

- Nice Backtracking, Jay-z made Noel looks like the ignorant old man he is. So Jay-z won.

- I think football is the real winner.
