The father of Shane MacGowan has urged his son to give up drinking.
Maurice MacGowan, 78, told the Sun newspaper that his son “must heed the doctor's advice”.
His comments come amid reports that MacGowan, frontman of the Pogues, is suffering from hepatitis.
“He has had a very good run on the drink but he must remember he is mortal,” Maurice said.
