U2 have told their fans not to buy tickets to concerts which claim the Irish band are scheduled to play because they have no confirmed shows.
In a statement the band said the reports were “mistaken” and that there “are no tour dates for the band at the moment”.
But they did add that announcements about future concerts would appear on their website.
The emergence of fake tickets follow reports earlier this year that the band were to announce a residency at the O2 Arena in London.
As previously reported on Gigwise, U2 are currently recording their new studio album alongside Brian Eno.
The project, which is being recorded in their home studios in Dublin. Is expected later this year.
