Arctic Monkeys' Third Album Battling 'Yoko Ono' Tensions

It's been claimed...

The Arctic Monkeys are struggling to record their third album because guitarist Jamie Cook and his girlfriend can't decide where to live, it's been reported.

According to the Mirror, Cook and Katie Downes' indecision is causing “Yoko Ono” like problems for the band.

Cook is said to be keen to move to London to be near frontman Alex Turner, while Downes wants to say in her £1million flat in Liverpool.

"Jamie and Katie are finally taking the plunge and buying a place together. But they are arguing over where exactly to base themselves and now the Monkeys are getting involved,” a source told the newspaper.

"They're telling Jamie to get a pad in London where singer Alex Turner lives. It's becoming an increasing source of tension - and Jamie is the one bearing the brunt of it

"He's got Alex and the lads in one ear, telling him to move down south, and Katie in the other, pleading with him to ignore them.

“Friends are joking that she's turning into a modern-day Yoko Ono and turning Jamie away from the group.”

Ono was notoriously held accountable for causing tension between members of the Beatles as a result of her relationship with John Lennon.

As previously reported on Gigwise, Arctic Monkeys spent two weeks of July in the studio working on their as-yet-untitled third album with producer James Ford.

Ford, who also produced their second album, 'Favourite Worst Nightmare', said recently that group have “got at least one tune up their sleeves that sounds massive already.”
