US rapper Jay-Z has denied that Timbaland will produce every track on his next studio album - and hinted that Kanye West may yet feature on the record.
Speaking earlier this month, Timbaland said he had been given the go ahead to produce the rapper's next album, the follow-up to 2007's 'American Gangster'.
He called the unrecorded album a “classic” and promised that it would appeal to fans of all music genres.
But, Jay-Z has now distanced himself from Timabaland's claims, calling them “premature”.
“I’m a person that works off music. If Timbaland makes 10 great tracks then he produces the album, if Kanye West makes 10 great tracks then he produces the album; if he makes three, I’ll take three. I let the music dictate the direction,” he told Rolling Stone.
As previously reported on Gigwise, Jay-Z has also spoken about the success of his recent European tour, which included his appearance at the Glastonbury festival.
The rapper said he had enjoyed “the best run I ever had in my life" during his dates across the continent.
