The late actor Heath Ledger based his performance as the Joker in the new Batman movie on Sex Pistols bassist Sid Vicious, his co-star Christian Bale has revealed.
Speaking about Ledger's portrayal as the Joker, Bale, who plays Batman in the Dark Knight, said the actor had watched clips of Vicious to research the role.
"Heath's created an anarchic Joker unlike any ever seen before. He modelled the part on Sid Vicious which made this punk-like character. I think it is a classic portrayal of a great villain,” he told the Telegraph.
