Broadcaster Bill O'Reilly has retaliated against claims made by US rapper Nas that Fox News is a racist organisation.
O'Reilly, who fronts the O'Reilly Factor on the channel, said the "vile rapper" was a hypocrite who pedalled “the N-word and violent lyrics to his audience of children and young adults.”
Nas protested outside the Fox News building in New York last week with a petition signed by over 620,000 people.
The petition claimed that the organisation was racist in some of its news coverage.
Addressing the issue on his programme, O'Reilly said the rapper's protest was timed to promote his new untitled album, which he called “a bomb, a disaster, a catastrophe”.
He also said news organisations that had reported the story were “corrupt”.
Nas's album, which was originally entitled 'Nigger', topped the Billboard chart last week.
