Comedian and serial shagger Russell Brand is to host this year's MTV Video Music Awards (VMA's) in Los Angeles this autumn.
The September 7 ceremony is a big break for the 33-year-old who has a relatively low profile in the States compared to his native Britain.
He said of hosting the ceremony: "(It will be) good to preside over what is sure to be only vaguely coordinated televised insanity".
He went on: "That's how I've made my name in this country: flying very much by the seat - and the crotch - of my pants."
Brand co-starred in the movie Forgetting Sarah Marshall, yet he's set to become a household name in America when the Adam Sandler comedy Bedtime Stories is released.
He joins a galaxy of big names that have hosted the VMA's in the past, including Sean Combs, Chris Rock and Jack Black.
