Franz Ferdinand frontman Alex Kapranos has described the Cribs collaboration with former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr as “amazing”.
Kapranos, who produced The Cribs last album, said he had heard four or five songs on Ross Jarman's iPod.
“He had them on his iPod and it was funny because the guitars were panned hard right and left and it’s amazing - in one ear you’ve got this very distinctive Johnny Marr style, and in the left ear you’ve got this very distinctive Ryan Jarman style.
“It’s cool, it really works,” he told BBC6 Music.
As previously reported on Gigwise, because of production delays, Franz Ferdinand will release their new album in January 2009.
