Feeder bassist Taka Hirose was nearly blinded last week when broken shards of his bass guitar struck him in the face, it's been revealed.
Hirose and the rest of the band were filming a slow motion television ident for Channel 4, which involved smashing up their instruments, when the incident happened.
It's understood that when Hirose smashed his bass it flew up and struck him in the face.
The bass player was treated by members of St. Johns Ambulance Brigade on the scene who were able to stop blood loss with temporary butterfly stitches.
Hirose was taken to hospital but later discharged by doctors so the band could fly to Japan for the Fuji Rocks festival.
