The Strokes drummer, Fabrizio Moretti, and bassist, Nikolai Fraiture, have both revealed information about their upcoming side projects.
According to Rolling Stone, Moretti ‘s project is called Little Joy and features his current girlfriend, Binki Shapiro, and their friend Rodrigo Amarante, formerly of Brazilian indie-rock group Los Hermanos.
The currently untitled album will be released this fall through Rough Trade sounds like “Antonio Carlos Jobim, Vince Guaraldi and Sixties wall-of-sound girl groups”.
Strokes bassist Nikolai Fraiture has named (and taken from his name obviously) his side project Nickel Eye. Having a working title currently ‘The Time Of The Assasins’, the album features guests Regina Spektor and Nick Zinner of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
The Strokes are planning an album release for 2009.
