40,000 early-bird tickets for next years T in the Park festival have have sold out within 10 hours of going on sale.
Organisers said demand had been unprecedented for the event and that the remaining tickets would go on sale early in 2009.
At present, no acts for next year's festival, which takes place from July 10th-12th, have been confirmed.
This years T in the Park festival took place last weekend and saw performances from R.E.M, Amy Winehouse and The Verve.
But the festival was marred by the stabbing of a young man who had gone to the aid of a female friend.
As yet, no arrests have been made over the incident, which took place in the early hours of Sunday morning.
