US rapper Nas has endorsed the presidential campaign of democrat Barack Obama – and in turn poured scorn on the presidency of George W Bush.
The rapper told Rolling Stone that Bush, who will stand down from his position in January, had “made everyone feel like niggers” during his two terms in office.
“When 9/11 happened, everyone felt like they been duped,” he added.
Nas samples a speech by Obama on 'Black President', one of the final songs on his new untitled studio album, which was released on Monday (July 14th).
Speaking about the Illonois senator, Nas said he was confident that he would win the election in November because he was “honest”.
He also said that he doesn't think about Obama's Republican rival, John McCain, because “he's part of the old world, the dead America.”
Nas joins an huge list of names from the world of music who have publicly backed Obama's campaign to become president.
