Kasabian frontman Tom Meighan has told Gigwise that the band's third album is like the Wizard of Oz.
Speaking exclusively to Gigwise, Meighan said that sessions for the record, which have been taking place in the band's home town of Leicester, have been going “really well.”
“We've nearly finished it, we've got about three more songs to finish off so hopefully it should be out by the end of the year,” he added.
Meighan compared the album to the Wizard of Oz when asked how it sounded, but promised it would be “more psychedelic and danceable” than the movie.
Kasabian's last record, 'Empire', topped the UK charts upon its release in 2006.
Last week, Meighan slammed this years Glastonbury festival, calling the event “rubbish” and accusing journalists of not presenting honest coverage of the event.
Despite his comments, he added that Kasabian would “love” to headline the festival in 2009.
