Man Stabbed 'Multiple Times' At T in the Park

A man is in a serious condition after being stabbed at T in the Park festival in Kinross.

The incident happened at 00.45am this morning and police believe that two men attacked the 22-year-old leaving him with multiple stab wounds.

Police are urging any witnesses to come forward who may have witnessed the stabbing in the ‘Blue zone four’ area of the camping site. They say the men who carried out the attack were likely to have blood on their  clothes.

Tayside Police Det Ch Insp Bruce Kerr told the BBC: "This has been a horrific assault on a 22-year-old man who sustained multiple stab wounds."

"The camp site would have been very busy at the time of this assault and I would urge anyone who witnessed the incident, who has not yet made themselves known to the police, to speak to any police officer at the festival.

"Similarly, I would urge anyone who finds a knife or blood-stained clothing to notify a police officer or steward immediately."

The victim is being treated at the Ninewells hospital in Dundee where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Police are looking for a white man, 6ft 1 of skinny build and in his late teens, with short brown hair and wearing a tracksuit top. The other man is about 5ft 8 of medium build and had dark mullet style hair.

An area of the site has been cordoned off for forensic examination while police continue to interview witnesses.
