Little Man Tate frontman Jon Windle was assaulted while on a night out in Brighton on Wednesday (July 9), leaving him with a fractured jaw and a cut eye.
The singer was out drinking with the band and their new label home of Skint Records, when he was set upon in an 'unprovoked' attack by a 'group of thugs.'
As a result of his injuries, Windle has had a metal plate inserted into his mouth and received a number of stitches. Understandably, their scheduled appearances at Oxegen and T in the Park festivals have been cancelled this weekend.
A spokesman for the band said: “The guys were out on Wednesday night celebrating with their new label Skint, when Jon was attacked by a group of thugs outside a club who were obviously looking for trouble.
“They badly cut up one of his eyes and fractured his jaw, so it wont be possible for the band to play either festival. They are really gutted.”
At the time of press, the band will still be performing at V Festival in August.
